General
Review :
This article explains that English
as a General Subject enhances the fundamental course learning process at the
tertiary level. They are not yet adept enough to use it, based on the
observations. It leads to low motivation, a lack of vocabulary, a lack of
learning interest, and a lack of time allocation, among other things. The
researchers then offer a good alternative in this article, which is to use an
integrated method. The purpose of this study is to see if the Integrated
Approach can enhance English proficiency and learning motivation, as well as
how the learners' development process works and what elements impact it. The
data presented is also extremely sufficient, namely 37 students from the
Islamic University of Indragiri Tembilahan, and researchers employed
questionnaires and examinations to acquire data from the 37 students.
Overall, this article is excellent,
and the findings are extremely beneficial to other researchers who will conduct
similar study in the future. The findings and discussion portion is highly
intriguing to read, as are the facts supplied and the graphs or tables that are
displayed since they are straightforward and minimalist. Among the numerous
intriguing aspects, the worst may be at the level of language or word choice
coherence.
According to
the general review above, the conclusions are; (1) each chapter is quite
focused on the topic; (2) the data presented is extremely useful; and (33) the
findings and discussion is highly intriguing to read with the facts and graphs
displayed.
Major
Weaknesses : (1) The level of language
is too high sometimes so it can confuse the reader a little bit and the
coherence of a word choice is sometimes a bit odd.
